Prospect Northgate Alarm, how may I help you?
Agent (AI) Hello, this is Alex Rivera. I'm an AI assistant calling for Dragonfruit AI. Could I get your name, and ask if you handle new product lines or partnerships there?
Prospect Uh, my name's Mike, and possibly. It depends what we're trying to do.
Agent (AI) Hi Mike. We help alarm dealers add video AI on their customers’ existing cameras, so you can offer intrusion and shoplifting detection as a service. Do you handle partnerships like that?
Prospect Yeah, it's me.
Agent (AI) Great. Are you the right person to send a one-page partner overview to?
Prospect It'd be me.
Agent (AI) What's the best email for you?
From Dragonfruit AI’s own outreach on Pitaya. Names, companies and emails changed; lightly trimmed.
What your prospects hear
A recreated example call in Pitaya’s own agent voice: a quote request, called back and booked. Sound on.
Or have the agent call you

Calling you now…
Pick up and play along: ask questions, push back, say you’re busy.
That’s a Pitaya call.
Your own agent sounds like that, calling your prospects about what you sell.
The live demo calls US and Canadian mobiles. Elsewhere, sign up and talk to your agent in your browser: the first 15 minutes are free.
A local number your prospects will pick up
Choose the area code
Search by area code (512 for Austin, 212 for New York) and buy the number in the app. Each lead is called from a number in its own area code when you have one.
Calls go out from it
Your campaigns call from your numbers, so prospects see a local US number, not an international one.
Callbacks are answered
When someone calls the number back, your agent answers, knows who they are and what was said last time, and picks up the conversation.
Numbers stay healthy
Calls are spread across your numbers and each stays under its daily limit, which protects its reputation. Add numbers to call more.
What a Pitaya number is, and isn’t
Made for AI calling
It is the number your agent calls from and answers on. It doesn’t come with a desk phone or app for you to call from.
Verified caller ID needs a US company
Verified caller ID (the carriers’ SHAKEN/STIR check, which keeps your calls from showing up as “Spam Likely”) needs a US company: an EIN, a US address and a US phone number for the person signing. Many founders outside the US already have one, such as a Delaware LLC or C-corp. Without it you can still call, up to 50 calls a day, from numbers that are not verified.
What you would set up
Pitaya writes a campaign like this from a sentence about your business. You can change any line in plain English.
- Goal
- Reach the owner of roofing companies in Austin and book a 15-minute call.
- Opening line
- “Hi, this is Maya calling for Roofline Leads. We send pre-qualified roof repair jobs to roofers in Austin. Who handles new jobs there?”
- Instructions
- Ask for the owner by role, then their name.
- Ask how many jobs a week they could take on.
- Offer two times for a 15-minute call.
An example with a made-up company. The agent adds the AI disclosure itself.
Pay as you go, billed per second
Numbers are $2 a month each, from your prepaid balance. Calls are $0.15 a minute of conversation; unanswered calls are free.
Add credit, and calls draw it down. Switch on auto top-up and campaigns never pause.

On a typical day of our own cold calls, 500 dials came to about $45: most answered calls are short voicemails and front desks.
How Pitaya keeps your calls within the rules
- The agent says it is an AI at the start of every call (in its opening line or its first reply), and that the call is recorded. If anyone asks, it says so again.
- Every number’s line type is checked before the first call: business lines and landlines are called; mobiles only when the contact’s consent is on file.
- “Don’t call me again” goes on your workspace’s do-not-call list at once, for every campaign.
- Calls go out only inside the hours and days you set, in each contact’s own time zone.
- Your part: consent where it is needed, and checking residential numbers against the National Do Not Call Registry. Pitaya is for calling businesses; it is not for calling consumers without consent.

Questions
Do I need to be in the US to get a number? +
No. Anyone with a Pitaya account can buy local US numbers in the app.
Can I make calls myself from the number? +
No. Pitaya numbers are for your AI agent: it calls from them and answers them.
Why does my number show “Spam Likely”? +
Numbers without verified caller ID, and numbers that make many calls, get labelled more often. Verified caller ID (with a US company) and a daily limit per number both help.
How many numbers do I need? +
Each number has a daily call limit to protect its reputation. Most teams start with one or two and add more as they call more.
