Getting started
What is Pitaya? +
An AI caller for teams that sell to other businesses. You describe what you sell and upload a list; Pitaya’s agent calls each business, has a real conversation, books meetings or captures the details you need, and logs every call with a recording, transcript and summary.
What do I need to start? +
A sentence or two about what you sell, a list of businesses with phone numbers (a CSV), and about ten minutes. Pick a starter (book meetings, qualify leads, re-engage old leads or recruit partners) and Pitaya writes the agent for you.
Can I hear it before I pay? +
Yes, twice. Try the live demo on this site: pick a scenario and an agent calls your phone. After you sign up, your own agent can call your phone three times for free before you start the trial.
Do I need developers? +
No. Pitaya is not a toolkit for building voice agents; it is the finished caller. There is nothing to code or host.
On the calls
Do people hang up when they hear it’s an AI? +
Some do; most cold calls end quickly whoever makes them. In our own outbound, about 1 in 14 dials became a real conversation, and about 1 in 5 of those ended with a next step: a callback, an email for more information, or a meeting.
What happens with receptionists, phone menus and voicemail? +
It asks the front desk for the right person by role, says "operator" or presses 0 at phone menus, waits through short hold queues, and leaves your voicemail after the beep, or hangs up on machines if you prefer.
Can it book meetings into my calendar? +
Yes, with Cal.com: it checks your availability during the call and books the time. With other calendars it takes the agreed time and email and sends them on to you.
Can it hand a call to a person? +
Yes. Set a transfer number and the agent connects hot leads to your phone mid-call.
Can it answer calls too? +
Yes. Calls to your Pitaya numbers are answered by your agent, which recognises leads calling back and picks up where the last call left off.
What does it sound like? +
Choose from over 20 natural voices, compared by how they sound on a real phone line, and pick one per brand. The quickest way to judge is the live demo above.
Which languages does it speak? +
Agents are set up in English. When the person on the line answers in another language such as Spanish, the agent can follow them.
Compliance
Is AI calling legal? +
It can be, when it is done properly, and Pitaya is built for that: it calls businesses, says it is an AI at the start of every call, checks each number’s line type before dialing (mobiles only with consent on file), keeps a do-not-call list, and calls only in local business hours. You choose who to call and confirm you are allowed to call them. This is not legal advice; check the rules for your market.
What stops my numbers being marked as spam? +
Local numbers by area code, a daily cap per number, verified caller ID once your business is registered, and calls that identify themselves honestly. Until your business is verified, a workspace makes up to 50 calls a day.
Are calls recorded? +
By default, yes, with the recording notice said at the start of the call. You can turn recording off; transcripts and summaries are still kept.
Pricing and billing
How much does it cost? +
Plans start at $99 a month with 500 call minutes included, then per-second billing. Only connected time counts: ringing and unanswered calls are free.
How does the trial work? +
7 days with 60 call minutes. A card is needed to start it; nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then.
Can I change plans or cancel? +
Yes, any time, from the billing portal. Plans run to the end of the period you paid for.
Data and security
Who owns the call data? +
You do: your contact lists, recordings, transcripts and analyses. We process them only to provide the service to you. See the privacy policy for the details and our providers.
Where is data stored? +
In the United States. Connections are encrypted, passwords and sign-in tokens are stored only as hashes, and you can export your contact lists or ask us to delete everything.
Do you train AI models on my calls? +
No. Our AI provider does not use data sent through its business API to train its models.
